Announcement    I began Sundancer Designs Textile Company in the late 1990's with the help and support of my partner, Harold. The business is about creating clothing you will enjoy wearing for a long time to come, or feel is the perfect gift to give someone you care about.

As a fiber-artist, I’m largely self-taught. Color, line, and a love for plants, critters, insects, and being outdoors all inspire our designs. All Sundancer items are originals designs made by us. Our designs are for the whole family: T-shirts, womens’ skirts and accessories, children's tees and dresses, and our most popular clothing for babies.

I currently split my time between Indian Lake NY in the Adirondacks, and Candor NY in the heart of he Finger Lakes. Weekends find us at The Ithaca Farmers Market and at festivals in New York's beautiful Adirondack Mountains.

INSPIRATION:
Colors and how they look together create feeling. The best colors to are those unnamable in-between ones that hide in the color wheel and don’t meet each other too often. I like to introduce them to see what happens.

Drawing has been part of creative life as long as I can remember. Since childhood, and time spent in my father's studios, my favorite things to draw with have been black Sharpie markers. Their boldness, fineness, positive-ness is what I need to explore my ideas, both visual and verbal. Nothing beats a brand new, fine Sharpie marker, unless it's a big box of them.

Being outdoors is my joy, whether hiking the high peaks, pulling weeds in our mini-orchard, skiing in the backcountry, it's all good. But I do need to make a living, so I'm truly grateful I can gain inspiration for work by enjoying these activities, which in turn allow me an outlet for the design ideas constantly swimming in my head.

THE HOWS:
Methods used include hand painting, nature printing, and screen-printing. Screening is done by hand, not machine, and each piece is an individual. Many times several methods are used in tandem to create a finished piece. Designs evolve continually and tend to follow the seasons both in color and subject. All Sundancer Designs are originals designs, and all stamps, stencils, and screens are all made by us.

THE PRACTICALS:
Most clothing blanks used by Sundancer Designs are American made, and many are made from organically grown cotton; all are marked as such on this site where applicable.

Every piece from Sundancer Designs is washed and dried 1-2 times prior to shipment to you. Sizing charts provided take this into consideration to help you choose the right size for you.

If for any reason you need to return or exchange your Sundancer Design, there will be absolutely NO HASSLE, meaning this: 1.) No charge to ship an exchange to you, and 2.) Prompt refund to you by company check upon receipt of your return items.
